Product Description

Accumulation filling a couple large boxes (probably 50+ lbs total weight.)  Collection remainders, dealer stocks, better individual items, eclectic material, etc.  A little bit of everything – good breadth here, so very useful for internet dealers looking for a variety of material to offer.  Maybe the most interesting group here are the 5 “Sikkim” rocket experimental stamps, each signed by Stephen Smith (and another set of initials on each stamp, but I haven’t figured out who those are).  Includes Rocket Experiment stamp in red, blue and purple, purple stamp with “Parcel” overprint, and blue stamp with “Livestock” overprint.  Two of these are listed on eBay at $100/ea, but this is the first group of 5 different I’ve ever handled (est $500-$750+),

However, the bulk of the “value” here is in US “bread and butter” material, including a 2-book dealer stock of revenues, US collection remainder with mint 692-701, another collection remainder with used C1-C6 and lots of <$50 stamps (100’s), even some face value material, a sparse Minuteman collection with a number of higher-catalog value stamps like used 67 ($1,000), 24c 1861-1862 shades, 72 ($600), 138A (well-defined I-grill, $1,500), mint Washington Franklins like mint 460 ($675), etc .  Loose dealer cards include a nice lightly-canceled used Scott 18 ($550), 95 ($900), unused 102 (genuine, only 3,195 issued, $375+), 121 ($450), 133 unused (genuine, only 5,000 issued, $140+), 155 (x3, $1,050), several more Scott National albums and two Harris Liberty albums, all with collection remainders (one with mint 803-834 and other individual stamps with values to $450, other with Columbians to 30c, etc.)

Total catalog value of the “front of book” items alone will be very high (I’d guess $50,000+.

Back-of the-book is highlighted by a very nice mint stock of Philippines issues from the 1930’s on (hundreds of stamps, including loads of VF NH items with CV’s to $35 or so – the next owner could make a lot of very nice mint “all-different” starter groups from this...) Also includes some mint US Duck stamps, a few proofs (including banknotes 157P4//209P4), mint Savings stamps (including two of the large format $5 values in very nice condition,) 3 albums of souvenir pages, plus much more.

Lots of material for the internet seller, with some nice specialized/eclectic material for the philatelist.

Extension/Expertization Policy

Expertization/Extension Policy

Any uncertified (single) stamp that I sell may be placed on "extension" while a certificate of expertization is obtained. In addition, stamps with existing certificates issued prior to January 1, 2015 may be placed on extension for a new certificate. Individual stamps from a larger lot may not be placed on extension, unless prior approval has been obtained. The following procedure must be followed for all extensions:

  • All lots must be paid for in advance and the lot will ship once payment clears. Upon receipt, please examine the item. If you agree with my description but want a certificate, then...
  • You must notify me (preferably at time of purchase) that you are requesting a certificate and we must agree on a 3rd party service (APEX, PF, PSAG and PSE are acceptable) to do the certification. This notification must occur within 7 days of receipt but in no event later than 30 days from the purchase date. The item must be submitted within 7 days of receipt, but in no event later than 30 days from the sale.
  • You submit the item as the rightful owner and pay any certification and postage costs required at that time.
  • If the item comes back with an opinion stating "not genuine", with a different identification (different Scott number), or with faults not originally described, you may return the lot and I will reimburse your purchase price plus the cost of the certificate (up to 20% of the purchase price or $100, whichever is lower). The stamp must not be marked in any way, and must be returned in the original condition (not encapsulated). Express service premiums are not reimbursable. Certificate costs are not refundable if the service cannot render an opinion, or if a graded certificate disagrees with any statement regarding grade or estimated grade.
  • Upon receipt of the returned stamp and certificate, I will credit your account (as defined in (4) above) within 24 hours. You can leave the money on account to apply toward future purchases, or request a refund, in which case funds will be sent within 2 business days.

The following expertization services are acceptable:
