Details

Group filling 2 medium boxes, packed with all sorts of odds and ends, and a number of “what if” and “maybe” type items.  The “for sure” catalog value will probably exceed a hundred thousand dollars, but the “maybe” catalog value will be millions.  Piles of dealer sales sheets, stockcards, envelopes, etc. some with potentially very valuable items (for instance, eight Scott “316’s”, including a pair tied to piece, a mint “321”, etc.)  Of course, I’m counting all of those as “zero” because they’re all fake (or are they?  Hey, one can dream, right?)  Well, the good news is that many are not “obviously” bad – in fact, some are good enough looking to make you wonder “what if… “

Even if all those lotto tickets turn out worthless, the “real” stuff is very worthwhile.  Although condition is all over the map from filler to superb, there are many pockets of decent material.   For instance, there’s a very useful Postage Due mint stock (w/ many 4-margin NH stamps, CV $6,000+), small dealer sales sheets stock (CV $10,000), a chunk of postage, another 8 albums (including a 1960’s Denhof and 2 Scott Nationals), another 12 stockbooks/binders, plus another 5 sheet albums (with 1920’s and up sheets including Scott 644,) plus many more odds & ends in glassines, etc.

There’s also some good material for the specialist (like at least a dozen 24c 1861-66’s of varying shades – maybe some better?), a stockpage with (14) mint OG bluish paper stamps (all genuine 357-358,) some EFO’s, some fancy cancels, etc.  This is a TRUE mish-mash, containing many groups and items that I set aside to process later but never got around to (including the nice sound VF NH Scott C18 that I planned to run as an individual lot.)  Catalog value will be enormous and my asking price is very conservative.  If you can deal with large quantities of lower value material at extremely low %’s of catalog and like a few surprises, you will LOVE this group.  Even if this looks like “too much time” for you to invest, you should still consider it …spend a day taking the easily-identifiable better material out and just donate the rest for a tax deduction...

It’s a good lot to have some fun with – there’s a LOT of material here, surprises lurking in almost every nook and cranny, and value of just the decent material will quickly exceed my asking price.  I’ve included a couple pictures to whet your appetite.  If I showed you any more, it would take the fun out of these popular, profitable and entertaining “mish mash” lots!

Expertization/Extension Policy

Any uncertified (single) stamp that I sell may be placed on "extension" while a certificate of expertization is obtained. In addition, stamps with existing certificates issued prior to January 1, 2011 may be placed on extension for a new certificate. Individual stamps from a larger lot may not be placed on extension, unless prior approval has been obtained. The following procedure must be followed for all extensions:

  • All lots must be paid for in advance and the lot will ship once payment clears. Upon receipt, please examine the item. If you agree with my description but want a certificate, then...
  • You must notify me (preferably at time of purchase) that you are requesting a certificate and we must agree on a 3rd party service (APEX, PF, PSAG and PSE are acceptable) to do the certification. This notification must occur within 7 days of receipt but in no event later than 30 days from the purchase date. The item must be submitted within 7 days of receipt, but in no event later than 30 days from the sale.
  • You submit the item as the rightful owner and pay any certification and postage costs required at that time.
  • If the item comes back with an opinion stating "not genuine", with a different identification (different Scott number), or with faults not originally described, you may return the lot and I will reimburse your purchase price plus the cost of the certificate (up to 20% of the purchase price or $100, whichever is lower). The stamp must not be marked in any way, and must be returned in the original condition (not encapsulated). Express service premiums are not reimbursable. Certificate costs are not refundable if the service cannot render an opinion, or if a graded certificate disagrees with any statement regarding grade or estimated grade.
  • Upon receipt of the returned stamp and certificate, I will credit your account (as defined in (4) above) within 24 hours. You can leave the money on account to apply toward future purchases, or request a refund, in which case funds will be sent within 2 business days.
