Product Description

Details

Stock of very mixed condition used US in large stockbook.  Starts with three Scott #1’s (all fillers – so right off the bat let’s revise that to “2 ½” Scott 1’s, as one is cut in so far that almost half of the stamp is missing…hey, on the positive side, each is a different shade and they catalog at least $425 each.) Includes better numbers like 69 (x6), 70/78 (x11), 71 (x5), 76 (x7), 91/98 (x3), 112 (x4), 116 (x7), 151 (x4), 153 (x6), 155/166/191 (x5), 214 (x7), 229 (x3), 238 (x6), 239 (x2), 240, 260/275 (x10), 288 (x10), 289 (x9), several hundred Washington Franklins (counted as cheapest possible variety, check closely), 573 (x7), 630 var (x10 stamps, all with selvage from the Scott 630 souvenir sheet – scarce!), some BOB items including Ducks like RW2 (x2), etc.

Condition is poor, so this lot is not for the faint of heart, but tons of catalog value (definitely over $25,000!) and enough useful material to make it worthwhile for the bourse/eBay/BidStart dealer looking to put some lots together or sell a few of the better singles and offload the rest.  The pictures show just a tiny fraction of the lot, but probably enough to tell you all you need to know about condition/content.  You could probably run 40-50 lots and QUICKLY get your money back on this one.

Extension/Expertization Policy

Expertization/Extension Policy

Any uncertified (single) stamp that I sell may be placed on "extension" while a certificate of expertization is obtained. In addition, stamps with existing certificates issued prior to January 1, 2011 may be placed on extension for a new certificate. Individual stamps from a larger lot may not be placed on extension, unless prior approval has been obtained. The following procedure must be followed for all extensions:

  • All lots must be paid for in advance and the lot will ship once payment clears. Upon receipt, please examine the item. If you agree with my description but want a certificate, then...
  • You must notify me (preferably at time of purchase) that you are requesting a certificate and we must agree on a 3rd party service (APEX, PF, PSAG and PSE are acceptable) to do the certification. This notification must occur within 7 days of receipt but in no event later than 30 days from the purchase date. The item must be submitted within 7 days of receipt, but in no event later than 30 days from the sale.
  • You submit the item as the rightful owner and pay any certification and postage costs required at that time.
  • If the item comes back with an opinion stating "not genuine", with a different identification (different Scott number), or with faults not originally described, you may return the lot and I will reimburse your purchase price plus the cost of the certificate (up to 20% of the purchase price or $100, whichever is lower). The stamp must not be marked in any way, and must be returned in the original condition (not encapsulated). Express service premiums are not reimbursable. Certificate costs are not refundable if the service cannot render an opinion, or if a graded certificate disagrees with any statement regarding grade or estimated grade.
  • Upon receipt of the returned stamp and certificate, I will credit your account (as defined in (4) above) within 24 hours. You can leave the money on account to apply toward future purchases, or request a refund, in which case funds will be sent within 2 business days.

The following expertization services are acceptable:
